The statistics below, most recently reported as of Q4 2024, show the percentage of card-present transactions that are EMV. The reported data represents the most accurate possible data that could be obtained by American Express, Discover, JCB, Mastercard, UnionPay, and Visa. It should be noted that, globally, 96.20% of transactions are EMV Chip.
Note that the data reported is for a twelve-month period. In regions where EMV is newly deployed and/or being actively rolled out, the twelve-month reporting figure may lag or under-represent the current transaction percentage.

The figures represent the latest statistics from American Express, Discover, JCB, Mastercard, UnionPay, and Visa, as reported by their member financial institutions globally. It should be noted that, globally, 71.98% of issued Cards are EMV.
