EMV® Chip transformed the security of in-store payments by providing a global solution to card-present fraud. Today, EMV Specifications build on this foundation to support the adoption of secure technologies that fight fraud and enable convenient and reliable payments across e-commerce channels.

EMVCo’s work provides a consistent and trusted payments experience for e-commerce merchants and their customers. And this is needed, as e-commerce continues to attract consumers (and fraudsters!) worldwide.

Greg Pote, Chairman of APSCA, the industry association for payments and identity in Asia, chaired a panel with Arman Aygen, Director of Technology at EMVCo, Hanspeter Jsler, Managing Director, Netcetera Singapore, and Andy White, CEO of Australian Payments Network.

The group discussed the e-commerce fraud challenges facing businesses in the APAC region, the latest fraud-fighting features of EMV Technologies – including EMV 3-D Secure (EMV 3DS), EMV Secure Remote Commerce (EMV SRC) and EMV Payment Tokenisation – and we heard the experiences of organisations which have implemented the specifications.
