Active engagement and collaboration with the payments industry is key to EMVCo’s proven model for creating, evolving and promoting globally adopted specifications that support innovation and address marketplace needs.
The EMVCo Associates Programme (EAP) was established in 2010 to facilitate this engagement and enable the broader payments community to play an active role in EMVCo’s strategic and technical direction.
Today, close to a hundred organisations participate as EMVCo Associates to contribute their knowledge and expertise to the development of EMV® Specifications.
“As an EMVCo Associate, we saw clear opportunities to contribute to the development of global specifications that promote seamless and secure payments worldwide. We look forward to continued and productive collaboration with EMVCo.”
Participation as an EMVCo Associate provides unique opportunities to enable seamless and secure payments across the globe:
EMVCo relies on input from its Board of Advisors to meet the needs of the payments industry. To enable broader industry input and reflect the growing diversity of EMVCo initiatives, all Associates who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to EMV deployment and interoperability can participate on EMVCo’s Board of Advisors to bring new proposals to the table, influence the strategic direction of EMVCo, and examine the business drivers of new initiatives and major updates. The Board of Advisors meets regularly throughout the year.
Associates interact regularly with EMVCo’s technical Working Groups and Task Forces, shape meeting agendas, submit technical contributions, and comment on draft specifications and other technical documents.
“[We] have an opportunity to bring our sector expertise, while gaining an early and better understanding of the direction EMVCo is taking.”
EMVCo’s comprehensive advisory and technical meeting schedule provides unique, focused networking opportunities to engage with payment industry stakeholders on strategic and technical topics.
“The engagement model is working and time with the participants is necessary and value-added.”
Flexible and expanded engagement categories promote meaningful and productive cross-industry collaboration.
