Meetings & Events

EMVCo hosts meetings and events throughout the year and around the globe. Because EMVCo is a technical body, many events are focused on detailed technical specification discussions or strategy related to such specifications. Other events are intended for broader payment industry audiences interested in understanding EMVCo’s role in industry.

EMV User Meetings

Since 2009 EMVCo has held an annual User Meeting at the end of June that brings together EMVCo Associates and Subscribers. Intended as a forum for direct feedback to EMVCo from a broad set of constituents, the two-day session provides a broad overview of EMV activity over the prior year, as well as a forward-looking window into EMVCo’s activity.

EMV Webinars & Seminars

In 2015 EMVCo began holding face-to-face Seminars, as well as remote Webinars, to provide the payments industry with insight into EMVCo’s activity in both EMV Chip and emerging EMV initiatives.  Past events include an event co-located with Cartes America in Washington, D.C. and a webinar series with the Smart Card Alliance in 2015.

Moving forward, EMVCo will hold webinars and seminars to provide the payments industry with opportunities to learn more about EMV initiatives.

EMVCo Associates Meetings

EMVCo Business and Technical Associates provide input on strategic business and implementation issues related to the use of the EMV Specifications and provide input and receive feedback on detailed technical and operational issues connected to the EMV Specifications and related processes, respectively.

Business Associates meet twice annually (typically in April and October) while Technical Associates also meet twice (typically in March and September). Details of these meetings are confidential for Associates only, see the Policy & Procedures document for general information.

EMVCo Partner Events

EMVCo works with other payments industry organizations to provide valuable forums for education and insight into payments industry activities.  Past events include an educational workshop co-located with an APSCA event in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2015.

As such opportunities are agreed, EMVCo will work with the relevant organizations to co-promote the opportunity.
