Benefits of Business Associate Participation

Business Associate participation is reserved for organisations with a direct business responsibility for an EMV® transaction (at any point in the Transaction Lifecycle).  BAs have the opportunity to provide EMVCo with input on strategic and business topics related to the use of the EMV® Specifications.

Organisations participating at this level have a seat on the EMVCo Board of Advisors, giving them the opportunity to communicate with EMVCo executives on EMV’s future business direction.

Benefits include the following:

      • Seat on the EMVCo Board of Advisors, providing the opportunity for interaction with EMVCo executives on strategic business direction.
      • Eligibility to attend twice annual Board of Advisors meetings.
      • Focused networking opportunities with EMVCo executives and other Business Associates.
      • Free company Subscriber benefits, including:
        • Advance access to EMV® Specification revisions, draft documents and upcoming meeting materials.
        • Participation in an annual EMV® User Meeting hosted by EMVCo with free registration for one attendee.
      • Discounted Technical Associate Participation.

The annual fee for EMVCo Business Associate participation is $12,500.

How do I participate as a BA?

Click here to sign up as an EMVCo Business Associate. EMVCo invoices annual BA participation fees, which are prorated for those organisations joining mid-year.

Q: What is a Business Associate?

A: A Business Associate is one of two participation types provided for in the Associates Programme. To participate as a Business Associate, the company applying must be a Payment Service Provider, that is, a payment card issuer or acquirer that bears the risk associated with payment transaction processing, or a representative association or network of Payment Service Providers. Furthermore, to qualify as a Business Associate, an organization must have an active presence in the marketplace that can reasonably be expected to demonstrate and continue to demonstrate a commitment to EMV® deployment and interoperability.

Q: What are the benefits of being a Business Associate?

A: Business Associate benefits include a seat on EMVCo’s Board of Advisors, which meets twice annually to discuss strategic issues related to specifications in the payments industry.  Benefits also include discounted Technical Associate fee, input to development and implementation of the EMV® Specifications, free registration for EMVCo's annual User Meeting for one attendee, complimentary Company Subscriber status, and focused networking opportunities.

Q: What is the annual participation fee for a Business Associate?

A: The annual participation fee for a Business Associate is $12,500, payable in advance. Fees are payable on an annual basis and prorated for those organizations that join mid-year.

A: Once logged in as an Associate, you may update your profile by selecting 'Click here' under the “My Account” header, and then selecting 'Update My Profile' on the left side of page. Once your information is updated, select 'Submit' at the bottom of page.

Q: How can I change my login ID?

A: Your default login ID is your email address. Once logged in as an Associate, you may update your profile by selecting 'Click here' under the “My Account” header, and then selecting 'Update My Profile' on the left side of page. Once your information is updated, select 'Submit' at the bottom of page.

Q: How can I reset my password?

A: On the EMVCo website homepage, select 'Login' located at the upper right corner of the page. Enter your login ID, select 'Forgot Password', and enter the information requested.
