EMVCo Response to COVID-19

We are facing an extraordinary and unprecedented time, as the global community works to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. As the health and wellbeing of EMVCo’s staff, members, Associates and partners is paramount, EMVCo is monitoring on an ongoing basis World Health Organisation (WHO) and national governmental guidance to keep our stakeholders safe.

Accordingly, to date, EMVCo has cancelled all face-to-face Board of Advisors, Associate, and Subscriber meetings through the end of 2020. As technical and business contributions from the payment community throughout this time continue to be crucial to EMVCo’s work, we are working to replace these meetings with remote sessions.

Associates are encouraged to monitor the EMVCo Associates Dashboard for the latest information and to register for relevant sessions, and guidance on meeting plans for later in the year.

EMVCo Guidance for Recognised Laboratories and Testing Facilities

As the spread of COVID-19 continues to rise throughout the world and the impacted countries are advising and/or imposing more stringent terms for gatherings, travel and work place attendance, EMVCo has taken into account the need for  laboratory and testing facilities staff to operate more flexibly by extending its existing policies with regards to remote working, and will therefore consider the option for Remote Testing From Home (RTFH) for key operational staff during this period.

EMVCo has issued guidance to its recognised laboratories and testing facilities that defines the conditions under which such an RTFH option might be accepted by EMVCo at its sole discretion. This will enable these laboratories and testing facilities to continue with their important evaluation and testing programmes, for their payment industry clients.

Enquiries as to how these laboratories and testing facilities are operating should be directed to them.
