Bulletins
EMVCo bulletins are designed to keep financial institutions, vendors, and other interested parties informed of any important activities relating to the EMV Specifications, their implementation and approval processes. Bulletins also emanate from frequently asked questions and answers assisting with the interpretation of the specifications and in implementation issues. Bulletins are divided into the following categories:
- General - provides information regarding the availability of new documents and EMVCo services.
- Notices - provides policy statements as well as the effective dates of stated requirements.
- Application Notes - provides clarification as needed to the EMV Specifications. In some cases, they contain proposed new or improved wording for possible inclusion in future versions of the specifications.
- Specification Updates - introduces required changes to the specifications to correct errors or to introduce new functionality.
- Type Approval Updates - provides updates to the type approval process and related documentation.
- Draft Bulletins - provides draft bulletins for industry comments prior to publication.
