Robert Burns - American Express

Robert Burns is a member of the EMVCo Board of Managers, representing American Express.

Within American Express, Robert is the Director of Technical Architecture of Global Advanced Payments Technologies. In this role he is responsible for EMV and related chip based advanced payments products, technical specifications, standards and architecture. His team also designs and supports chip product compliance testing procedures and new chip product developments and deployments. He has been involved in the area of chip technology for payment products for the past 15 years.

Robert graduated in the UK and has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Leicester and a Master's from the University of Leeds.

Kuan Chen - JCB

Kuan Chen is a member of the EMVCo Board of Managers, representing JCB Co., Ltd.

Within JCB, Kuan is Vice President of Brand Infrastructure & Technology, with specific expertise and a focus on product strategy and technology. Within the organisation Kuan is responsible for activities relating to chip standardisation, specification and product compliance.

Kuan graduated with a Bachelor's degree in engineering from Vanderbilt University in the USA.

Sean Conroy - American Express

Sean Conroy is a member of the EMVCo Board of Managers, representing American Express. He also acts as Chair of EMVCo's Associates Programme Task Force.

Sean currently serves as Director of Chip Standards within the Global Network Business at American Express. He is responsible for American Express’ representation on chip related industry bodies including EMVCo. Sean has played a lead role within American Express EMV chip program delivery and emerging payments standards development since 2002. During 2012, he was a key contributor in creating the American Express EMV strategy for the US market. He is well known within the payment industry, previously chairing the Board of Managers for EMVCo as well as representing American Express at industry forums such as Cartes and the US EMV Migration Forum.

Sean graduated with both Bachelor's and Master's degrees from St. John's University in New York, USA.

Arnaud du Chéné - MasterCard

Arnaud du Chéné is a member of the EMVCo Board of Managers, representing MasterCard Worldwide. He also acts as Chair for EMVCo's Terminal Approval Working Group.

Arnaud is VP, Head of Quality & Approval services within the Chip Centre of Excellence at MasterCard Worldwide. He leads the MasterCard global approval strategy and is responsible for the operational approval process for contact and contactless products. His team is supporting key industry players, banks and merchants during their approval and integration process.

In addition to serving as Chair of EMVCo's Terminal Approval Working Group, Arnaud also contributes to the Card Approval and Interoperability Working Groups. He has been involved in Chip cards and emerging technology for the past 20 years.

Arnaud graduated from University of California, Los Angeles, USA.

Christian Delporte - MasterCard

Christian Delporte is a member of the EMVCo Board of Managers, representing MasterCard Worldwide.  He also serves on the EMVCo Executive Committee.

Christian is Vice-President, Head of Chip Engineering, Chip Solutions & Engineering Group, Emerging Payments at MasterCard Worldwide.  His team develops payment related solutions using new technology in support of the M/Chip, PayPass, Transit, and Mobile product lines. These technologies encompass the definition of solutions and related standardization work as well as the development of functional, technical and security specifications. Additionally, Christian oversees quality and approval process definition and management, as well as organizes the delivery of implementation services globally.  

Christian graduated from the Les Facultés Universitaires Catholiques de Mons (FUCAM) in Belgium.

Christina Hulka - Visa Inc.

Christina Hulka is a member of the EMVCo Board of Managers, representing Visa Inc.

Christina currently serves as Senior Business Leader of Business Development for Global Risk and Authentication Products. Within this role Christina is responsible for Visa Inc.'s global risk and authentication strategic planning, including the deployment of smart card technology worldwide. Christina has been involved with the development and management of Visa's smart card-based products for the past 11 years.

Christina graduated from Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, England.

Marc Kekicheff - Visa

Marc Kekicheff is a member of the EMVCo Board of Managers, representing Visa Inc. He also acts as Chair for EMVCo's Next Generation Task Force.

Marc currently serves as Senior Business Leader of Chip Innovation at Visa Inc. and is responsible for Visa Inc.'s smart card technology development and compliance worldwide, covering contact and contactless cards and terminals as well as mobile handsets. A highly regarded smart card expert worldwide, Marc has authored several patents, is well acquainted with IT security and frequently addresses the industry through high profile speaking engagements. Throughout his career he has been a driving force in the development of global smart card technology, worldwide standards and compliance programs. Additionally, Marc currently sits on the GlobalPlatform Board and serves as Chairman.

Marc graduated with a Masters Degree in Econometrics (applied math to economics). 

Junya Tanaka - JCB

Junya Tanaka is the Chairman of the EMVCo Board of Managers and a member of the EMVCo Executive Committee, representing JCB Co., Ltd.  He also acts as Chair for the Interoperability Working Group.

Within JCB, Junya is Senior Vice President of Brand Infrastructure & Technology Department of JCB, and is currently focused on strategy planning and establishing vendor relationships. Junya's main responsibility is to expand the products compliant with J/Smart(TM), JCB's smart card program, including chip, cards, and issuing systems.

Junya graduated from Keio University in Tokyo, Japan.
