David Bibby - Discover

David Bibby is a member of the EMVCo Board of Managers, representing Discover.

David is currently Senior Manager in the Discover Chip Centre of Excellence and leads Discover’s product management team, which develops and manages contact and contactless EMV products for Discover and its global partners. During a career in the chip card industry spanning more than 20 years he has worked for payment schemes and technology vendors in technical and product management roles.

David holds a BSc in physics from King’s College, London.

 


Robert Burns - American Express

Within American Express, Robert is a Director and Staff Architect of Global Advanced Payments Technology.

In this role he is responsible for EMV and related chip based advanced payments products, technical specifications, standards and architecture. His team also designs and supports chip product compliance testing procedures and new chip product developments and deployments. He has been involved in the area of chip technology for payment products for the past 20 years.

Robert graduated in the UK and has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Leicester and a Master’s from the University of Leeds.


Rainy Cao - UnionPay

Rainy Cao is a member of the EMVCo Board of Managers, representing China UnionPay Co., Ltd.

She has over 20 years’ experience with banks, card schemes and payment systems. Rainy has worked in multiple Asian markets, including Singapore and China. In her current role at UnionPay, she overseas a broad range of financial services, including sales, business development, product, project implementation, operations, risk management, customer service, and business strategy. She has also worked with online payment platforms and solution providers.

Rainy graduated from Shanghai JiaoTong University with a Master’s degree in engineering and obtained a Diploma for Graduates of Finance from the University of London in 2007.


Sean Conroy - American Express

Sean Conroy is a member of the EMVCo Board of Managers, representing American Express. He also serves as Chair of the Associates Programme Taskforce and has twice chaired the Board of Managers during his tenure.

Sean currently serves as Director of Industry Engagement within the Global Network Business at American Express. He is responsible for American Express' representation on industry standards bodies including EMVCo and Global Platform. Over his 30 year career, Sean has played a lead role in advancing emerging payments programme development and industry engagement for American Express.

Sean graduated with both Bachelor's and Master's degrees from St. John's University in New York, USA.


Jonathan Main - MasterCard

Jonathan Main is the chair of the EMVCo Board of Managers, representing Mastercard.

Jonathan is currently a Business Leader in the EMV and Digital Devices group in Mastercard, which is responsible for the development of EMV related specifications and products. Jonathan has worked in the field of mobile commerce for 20 years, and during that time has been involved in many industry and standards bodies developing specifications related to mobile commerce.

Jonathan holds degrees in Electronic Engineering and Mathematical Sciences from the University of Adelaide in Australia.


Cheryl Mish - Discover

Cheryl Mish is a member of the EMVCo Board of Managers, representing Discover. Within Discover, Cheryl serves as the security lead in the Research and Development Technology team. Cheryl is a subject matter expert on payment security and is responsible for the security of new technology developments, along with the company's security evaluation processes. Cheryl previously held positions in payment security within the network, issuer and IT teams. She also represents Discover in other security standard bodies groups.

Cheryl studied at the George Washington University School of Business. She is also a Certified ScrumMaster and a member of International Association of Financial Crime Investigators.


Masao Noda - JCB

Masao Noda represents JCB on the EMVCo Board of Managers. He currently serves as Chair of EMVCo’s Level 2 Working Group, and also participates in the Next Generation Task Force.


Jack Pan - UnionPay

Jack Pan is a member of the EMVCo Board of Managers, representing China UnionPay. He also serves on the EMVCo Executive Committee.

Jack is currently leading the emerging technology teams and related activities within UnionPay. He has been closely involved in the chip and mobile payment industry throughout his career spanning across Citibank, Visa and Watchdata before joining UnionPay.

Jack graduated with a Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from University of Southern California in Los Angeles, U.S.A.

 


Mark Rigby - Visa Inc.

Mark Rigby is a member of the EMVCO Board of Managers, representing Visa

Mark currently serves as Senior Director, Global Risk & Authentication Products. Within this role Mark oversees the strategy, policy and new product & service development for Visa’s contact and contactless card products, as well as leading licensing activities for Visa’s chip assets.

Mark has worked in the payments industry for 20 years, with JCB, then Visa in Europe and the US.


Dave Roberts - MasterCard

Dave Roberts is a member of the EMVCo Board of Managers, representing Mastercard.

Dave is currently a Business Leader in the EMV and Digital Devices group in Mastercard, which is responsible for the development of EMV related specifications and products. Dave has worked on security, cryptography and smart cards for almost 30 years, initially on telecommunications security, before moving into electronic payment systems in the mid 90’s.

Dave graduated in the UK with a Bachelor of Science in Electronic and Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Telecommunications Systems. He is a member of the Institute of Engineering Technology and a Chartered Engineer.


Junya Tanaka - JCB

Junya Tanaka is a member of the EMVCo Board of Managers and a member of the EMVCo Executive Committee, representing JCB Co., Ltd. He also acts as Chair for the Interoperability Working Group.

Within JCB, Junya currently serves as Senior Vice President, Brand Infrastructure & Technologies. His current focus is on strategy planning, product development and market implementation of products compliant with JCB’s contact and contactless specifications including chip cards, mobile devices, terminals, and issuing systems.

Junya holds a BA in Policy Management from Keio University in Japan
